New work featured in Transformational Imagemaking

I’m pleased to say that one of my recent images is featured in  Robert Hirsch‘s wonderful new book Transformational Imagemaking: Handmade Photography Since 1960. The image comes from a recent series that questions the definition of photography and the fetish for photographic permanence while simultaneously investigating the nature of photographic practice at a time when an avalanche of virtual photographs* are created every hour of every day.

The book begins shipping next month from Amazon, but it’s never a bad idea to pre-order

*virtual photographs are defined as those that are never revealed or displayed on an independent substrate of their own, but rather exist at the pleasure of the powered screen.
