Explorations in Light and Time: Making and Using a Variety of Optics for both Film and Digital Photographers
Every photograph is an exploration of light and time. We’ll explore these two elements and how they come together to make a photograph while using of a wide variety of adapted and self-made optical devices custom made for your camera –both film and digital photographers welcome! We’ll spend parts of each day in the classroom/workshop, the darkroom (or lightroom) and plenty of time in the field making pictures. We’ll experiment with lensless photography, as well as self-made lenses and adapted optics. We’ll spend time discussing what you want to achieve in your work and how to get there by building the equipment that suits your vision. Bring your hiking boots for a field trip into the great Rocky Mountains where we’ll explore the ephemeral qualities of mountain light and put everything we learned during the week into practice.
